Managing Unwanted Attention
We have processes in place on our site to enable you to control situations that may arise on our site, like managing unwanted attention or inappropriate behavior. If you do come across someone that you believe is acting inappropriately towards you, there are a number of ways to deal with them.
Blocking a member
The first is to block the member. This involves locating the nescience member’s profile and simply clicking the Block button. This immediately stops that member from being able to contact you via messaging within our site.
They will also no longer be able to see any further activity and you will not be able to see any activities that the blocked member posts. This should be sufficient in most cases to get them to leave you alone.
Unblocking a member
If you have accidentally blocked a member for whatever reason, or you simply want to unblock them again, you can do this by visiting your own profile and then select Settings in the left column, you will then see a tab called “Blocked Members”. Selecting this tab will display any or all the blocked members and you can choose to unblock the member or members there
Reporting a member
If you feel that the member is engaging in illegal activities or is acting inappropriately towards yourself or other members, you do have the option of reporting the member to us and we will look into it and take action on your behalf. Depending on the members actions, this may involve us sending a warning to the offending member or could result in a suspension of the members account
To report a member, simply locate the member’s profile and click on the profile to open it up. On the profile, you will see “Block” and “Report” buttons. Simply click the “Report” button, fill in the form with as much detail as you can and submit the form. We will get the report and check into it as soon as possible. We will then decide on a course of action to take in regards to the reported member.
Please remember that if you go to another platform and a member there acts inappropriately, we cannot see any transactions that have occurred there. We can only act on what we can see on our site.
Is reporting the best option?
Please consider this carefully as this can have serious consequences. Have you told the offender that their behavior is unacceptable to you and asked them to stop? It may be that simple. If you believe that the offender knows that you don’t approve and has continued the inappropriate behaviour, then by all means, report the member, fill in the form and we will check into it.
